Who says you need 6 degrees to Kevin Bacon?

Tuesday, September 25, 2007

6 Degrees? Try just one! Earlier this month, the movie "Death Sentence" starring Kevin Bacon, Kelly Preston, John Goodman, and Aisha Tyler opened in theaters and featured several locations around Columbia.

Columbia Metropolitan has a nice article about the details. Filming took place from August - November 2006. Coby Jennings and Zachary Dylan Smith, both Columbia natives, played large roles in the movies. It's fun to see Columbia get so much visibility. Some of the places and people around town that played a part in filming were: The Bouknight's Heathwood home, the artwork and studio of sculpture Kathryn Ramsby, Hampton Street, Bull Street Campus and Kay Hampton helped the Columbia Development Commission set up locations for the crew to film.

Many thanks goes out to the Baldwins, Hyde Park Entertainment and the South Carolina Film Commission for choosing Columbia as your place to film! And what a great choice I might add. It's kind of cool to know that you can get the job of your dreams anywhere, say even acting with Kevin Bacon!
